There have been several cases in the United States history like the employee suing the employer or the other way round. There are several reasons why there is a disagreement between the employer and the employee and it leads to a court case. Also, in the current economic scenario, due to the bad debts and performances of the company, several employees have been laid off. While some move on to finding other jobs, others feel betrayed and take on the company by their horns and resort to going to court.

Employment laws are very complicated to understand and if an employee can find a way of suing, the employer can find a way out also. What most employees fail to understand is when they are terminated, they should first read their employment agreement and check whether employer has followed the rules correctly. The employee is governed by the contract first because they willingly signed it. Also, one should know when they have a strong case and only then proceed with it. If it is an act of discrimination based on religion, sex, color or race, then you may have a very strong case.

However, it takes a lot of effort and time to prove it. If you want to know whether your case is genuine, try reading some cases that other people have won against their employers.
