How Do You Calculate Unemployment Compensation ?

Unemployment compensation is like an insurance that is given to people who were dismissed from their jobs even though they did not commit a mistake or blunder while working. Basically they were dismissed for no rhyme or reason. A person, who knows that they are going to be fired and has already received a notice from their employer, can file for unemployment benefits. It is a simple process and it can be done directly in person or by phone or by mail.

The person needs to have details like employers address, phone number, and date of joining and last day of job, and the reason for firing ready with them. Once they register for unemployment benefit, they start receiving the checks within a span of two or three weeks.

Every person receives a different amount as unemployment benefit. The main factor used for calculating the unemployment benefit is the amount a person was earning last. The duration of the time he or she served in that position and the amount he or she earned will together determine what amount the person receives asunemployment compensation. Also, there are some more requirements that you should meet, like you have to be totally unemployed, you also should meet the base wage requirement, and should be looking for work.

Unemployment benefit is given for a temporary period and not for a long time. Every 3 months the decision to continue is reviewed by the Unemployment Benefit Office. Also, it is only given to people who are physically able to work. People, who have voluntarily resigned and have retired, are not eligible for this benefit. Also, you should not reject work offers if you get any.
